Looking Ready For The Red Carpet
We see celebrities in awarding ceremonies like the Oscars and the Golden Globe for example looking chic, elegant, sophisticated and picture perfect. We often wonder if we could achieve the same look but then we tell ourselves that they can look that way because they can afford to do so.
Looking ready for the red carpet is not only for the rich and the famous. Ordinary women like you and me can achieve this look with a few simple tricks. We don’t have to buy the most expensive designer dresses, shoes and accessories. We don’t even need to have our make-up done by famous make-up artists. All it takes is some creativity and a fashion sense of style of course to be able to pull off a look fitting for the stars.
Color is very much important. You need to be aware of which shades of hue give you a striking look and would work best with your skin and hair color. The color should bring out your eyes, your complexion and your hair. Cool pastel shades always work for blondes while brunettes would look best with warm tones like red and coral. Other colors like gold and silver work with almost all colors. It is best to try different colors to see which ones will make you stand out.
Having too much accessories and an elaborate dress doesn’t work. Only one should be the focus which is either the dress or the accessories. A simple black dress without any adornment for example should be paired with elaborate and chunky jewelry. Solid and neutral colors would look best with colored jewels. On the other hand, your accessories should be kept at a minimum or should be simple when your dress or gown is elaborate in design with beadworks, ruffles, etc. It doesn’t mean that you have to skip on the accessories, just go for smaller pieces.
While it is sad to admit that most designer fashion clothes are made for the skinny type bodies, it doesn’t mean that those with full figures have to hide theirs. If you have it, then flaunt it. Show off your best asset or work on your ensemble to enhance it. If you have legs that are to die for then show them off in a gown that reveals them. If you have great looking skin, then show some skin in a backless gown for example. For people who may not feel comfortable in tight and hug fitting clothes, you can always try a body slimmer underneath.
Lastly, cap off your look with an updo (hairdo) that best compliments your red carpet look.
It wouldn’t hurt if you try something new. Looks are constantly evolving but your individual fashion sense of style should be incorporated in your looks. Have fun with experimenting new looks while looking great and confident.
